Leading U.K.‐based Technology Innovator Expands Business Operations in Metro Atlanta and Appoints President, North America

Irisys technology is deployed worldwide in leading retailers

Irisys, a U.K.‐based innovator in award‐winning technologies, continues to invest in North America by launching the region’s new expanded headquarters at the Glenlake Center on 1 Glenlake Parkway in Atlanta. The office opened on Dec. 6, 2010, and replaces the previous office in Peachtree City, GA.

Chris Precious, who most recently served as Vice President of Sales for Irisys, has been appointed to President, North America, and Sales Director, worldwide sensor business. Precious is based in Atlanta.

“With its extensive history in technology innovation, its status as a major hub for international business, and its position for highly efficient continental and international travel, Atlanta was the natural location to centralize our North American business operations,” says Ian Wilcock, Chief Operating Officer for Irisys. “We look forward to playing a continued role in metro Atlanta’s vibrant business and technology communities.”

Irisys is the global leader in people counting and real‐time checkout line management solutions. The company’s infrared thermal imaging solutions are used by some of the world’s leading retailers to boost customer service, operational efficiency and profitability. A high technology manufacturing success story, Irisys exports British technology all over the world, and is regularly featured in the Sunday Times Tech Track list of fastest growing technology companies.

“Irisys technology is already proven to deliver significant, measurable impact on business efficiency and contribute to quality‐of‐life improvements for customers,” Precious says. “We hope our physical presence in metro Atlanta will help provide North American‐based companies with greater access to our innovation. We especially believe our people‐counting and real‐time checkout management solutions could be of extreme value in 2011, as retailers look to continue enhancing the shopping experience during a rebounding U.S. economy.”

This year, retailers expect high‐quality customer service will yield more loyal shoppers. According to the National Retail Federation, retailers’ main strategy for success in 2011 will be emphasized customer service and experience.

Irisys pioneered the introduction of low‐cost thermal imaging cameras for industrial applications, and its security technologies are predicted to transform the intruder detection market. Irisys’ ongoing investment in health care solutions aims to make hospitals safer and cleaner, and improve home monitoring for the elderly and infirm.

Irisys invests a double‐digit percentage of revenues in research and development and holds more than 70 patents. For more information please visit www.irisys.co.uk
