NORTHAMPTON, UK, and ATLANTA (Dec. 8, 2015) – Irisys, the world’s top supplier of people counting technology and grocery queue intelligence, has enhanced its Gazelle 2 people counter and Estate Manager software solution to deliver unprecedented levels of actionable intelligence.
“Retailers around the world count on Irisys to deliver innovative solutions that provide heightened data sophistication,” says Ian Wilcock, general manager of Irisys. “Gazelle 2 utilizes the latest generation of thermal detection technology, Thermal 2.0, to identify customers and deliver accurate counts. It is our most intelligent device yet.”
Gazelle 2 is a uniquely reliable device in quantifying shoppers – even in environments that can confuse and challenge other types of systems such as low- and no-light scenarios. The device’s thermal intelligence reveals a previously unseen world to retailers while adhering to privacy standards.
“We have stayed closely connected to our customers and listened to industry needs,” says Wilcock. “The advancements made to Gazelle 2 deliver the expanded, robust intelligence essential for retailers to operate with confidence.
Powered by Thermal 2.0, encompassing the state-of-the-science innovations in thermal kinetics, Gazelle 2 is designed to play a crucial role in the development of complex retail-intelligence solutions.
- Bluetooth 4.0 module technology integration providing iBeacon support and Bluetooth device monitoring to uncover more customer insight
- Bluetooth Smart wireless sensor integration to streamline data distribution
- Single-dashboard reporting
- Wireless setup
- Extensive analytics
The improved Gazelle 2 marks yet another milestone for Irisys, which, in 2015, shipped its 350,000th intelligent device. Additionally, Irisys experienced new heights of quality control by achieving a three-month consecutive span with zero defective devices returned. The accomplishment helped reduce the company’s already low rate of return from 0.3 percent to 0.06 – an 80 percent improvement.
And Gazelle 2 is compatible with Irisys’ upgraded Estate Manager software suite.
Introduced as part of the Gazelle Platform in 2014, Estate Manager is a scalable, Web- and cloud-based enterprise solution. It provides a single point to remotely manage its Gazelle and 3000 series products via a user-friendly dashboard tool. Irisys is also introducing enhancements to the software that will make it even easier to manage IP-enabled people counters from virtually anywhere in the world.
“People Counting devices are only one component of a complete in-store analytics approach. Retailers also need a comprehensive software solution that empowers the technical team’s ability to manage those devices,” says Wilcock. “The enhanced Estate Manager will improve retailers’ ability to receive actionable data in real time.”
Upgraded features include:
- Simplified access for users, providing real-time visibility into the status of an entire estate – as well as individual devices
- Remote installation and dynamic troubleshooting
- Connectivity monitoring
- Validation recording and faster file download speeds
- Improved device configuration and calibration
Irisys’ people counting technologies are deployed in the world’s leading retailers, and its intelligent queue management solution is utilized in top-tier grocers like Tesco and Kroger.
