-- People counting, checkout management top of mind for in-store retail executives --
ATLANTA - Irisys, a global leader in thermal-powered retail solutions, will spotlight its high-tech people counting and checkout management systems Oct. 14-17 at NextPoint® 2012 in Orlando, Fla.
“NextPoint® attracts the nation’s premier retail executives, which is the perfect opportunity to demonstrate the benefits of our advanced in-store systems,” says Chris Precious, president, North America, and sales director, Worldwide Sensor Business, for Irisys.
Based on infrared technology, Irisys’ non-intrusive sensors detect people according to their body heat. The accuracy of the sensors combines with analytics and feeds into an integrated system that uncovers opportunities to improve the in-store environment.
Integrating information collected by the sensors enables the system to predict – among several other things – the number of available checkouts needed in 15 and 30 minutes, meaning staff are already stationed to meet customer demand.
“Many retailers are installing new technologies to speed up the checkout process itself, but our technology also provides real-time management solutions while emphasizing the collection and application of longitudinal data,” Precious says. “Our people counting and checkout management systems learn customer behaviors and reveal opportunities for retailers to enhance their customers’ overall shopping experiences.”
Irisys’ technology was deemed PCI Compliant during independent review in early 2012 and is currently deployed in major retailers around the globe – including leading grocery chains such as Tesco and Morrison’s in the U.K. and the largest traditional grocer in the United States.
Irisys was also ranked in July as No. 31 on The Sunday Times’ “Fast Track” ranking of Britain’s fastest-growing international sales companies.
